happy labor day....

Happy labor day weekend. This weekend was nice because our friend GB was in town with his lady for the VT/Boise game. No, I don't want to talk about the game.

So this meant getting together old Hokie friends that used to hang out.... well, at least the ones who live in the DC area. We talked about how stupid we all were in college.... well Rick and Brent did. haaaaahahhaa. Just kidding Rick and Brent.

Unfortunately I am an idiot and didn't take any pictures. I mean why take pictures? You only get to meet up with old friends once in a blue moon. Anyway, lunch in DC was fun... with me, Rick, Jessica, Brent, GB and Alicia.

The rest of the weekend we went to Spotsylvania and Lexington, VA to assist with Rick's parents move...

Last week I told Rick that I kinda wanted a Nerf football. I don't know why but I just want to pass a football around. He was out running errands and called me and asked if he should pick one up. Hell yea!!

Then we went out and played with it.

meanwhile i went to the beach for the weekend. my friend marissa's parents have a place up in ocean city, md. marissa is a good friend of mine that i've known since i was 1 year old. we grew up on the mean streets of shirlington in the 80s (before it became yuppieville). it was nice to spend some time with her and her mother. we reminisced on doing dumb things as kids.

sunday morning we had breakfast AT THE YACHT CLUB... ha! sounds fancy doesn't it.



i'm sad that summer is coming to an end.... well, its not over yet, right?

I started off the morning kind of annoyed today. Do you guys ever get GROUPONS? It's sort of like a coupon you pay for to get a discount. We bought one a while ago and finally made some time to use it. We went to Crepe Amour in Georgetown.... Their website says open at 9am on Sundays... we showed up at 9:11 and they were still closed and told us to come back at 9:30 even though it also said 9am ON THEIR DOOR. PFFT. Total BS.

We walked around G-town for a little to waste some time.... oh and the crepes turned out to be pretty delicious. so that made up for it A LITTLE.

if theres one thing you need to know about me, its that i don't like to be kept waiting. have you ever had to meet up with friends and 5, 10, 15 minutes goes by and your still waiting? i'm usually boiling inside by this point. i never make people wait.

Rick and Brent went to Kings Dominion courtesy of my company... i really hooked them up with free tickets, food and parking. i did not go... because i no longer ride roller coasters. i used to ride them like crazy when i was a teen.... but i guess now i'm a wuss. WHO CARES!? apparently the lines were terrible.



friday night... (i'm going backwards here... sunday to friday) we walked to the new asian restaurant down the street. several months ago i suffered the loss of the best chinese food takeout place ever... and its been replaced with this below average japanese place.

me with a bunch of vegetarian sushis. one of my sushis was not wrapped all the way around with seaweed... do i expect too much from people? maybe.

then the most epic Die Antwoord show friday night. we drove up to philly for the night with Brent.... and came back saturday...

.... we stopped by burger king.... no comment on the cups...




view from the hotel.... i was pretty impressed with the doubletree hotel. when i arrived they had an envelope with my name written on it... with a coupon for free breakfast. ok, so maybe i'm easily impressed. i just thought it was weird that a huge hotel would take the time to write my name on an envelope.



then we made our way 2 blocks away to see these crazy south africans.

we had to wait first for the opening band to play.... typical hipster skinny jeans band. they weren't too bad though

i was right up front so i got some good pictures ... and I managed to stay up there for a few songs... but then my fear of dying kicked in.... so i moved to the back of the room. the crowd was a little insane and you can't tell from these pictures.

one night of banjo music in suburbia followed by a night of south african hip hop in philadelphia ... AND then work tomorrow...UGH.

camping and beach weekend in Delaware

we went up to delaware this weekend to go camping with a bunch of people.... and hit the beach of course. can i please live at the beach????

We went to a free tour of dogfish brewery. i took a sip of beer. check out that disgusted look on my face. i only drank it because it was made in a barrel made of paraguayan wood.

siiiike. i love my life. in fact, today i walked down the street and got some pizza... some days i go to the pool or visit my neighbor. don't worry, i always work my full 8 hours.... now if only i could make more money. actually, i'd rather have this lifestyle.

over the weekend...while waiting for my car to get...legal...tinting.... we checked out scotts run nature preserve near great falls....
